CAT :
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is an all-India test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance exam for the admission to the Post-graduate and Fellow Programs in management courses of several management institutes in India including the IIMs. It is on the basis of CAT result that the eligible candidates are short listed and called for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Eligibility :
Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)categories], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Testing Areas
CAT has two stages:
Only students who qualify in the Aptitude test are eligible to appear for the GD/PI. To qualify in the Aptitude test you have to perform well in each section. There is a sectional cut-off as well as a combined cut-off. All the students are informed about their score through written communication.
Group Discussion and Personal Interview: The GD/PI is essential part of final selection. In the GD/PI, a candidate's communication skill, presentation power, perception, general awareness, confidence, interpersonal skill, group behaviour etc. are checked.
Exam Format
Till 2008, CAT was a paper-based test. However, from 2009 on it has changed to a Computer-based test (CBT). In CAT 2010, the duration of the test was 2 hours and 15 minutes including an initial 15 minute tutorial. No breaks will be given during the test. There will be 60 questions in the test. How to Apply
- Buy the scratch voucher from a designated bank. To locate the Axis Bank branch nearest to you on a map.
- Register online on the CAT website http://www.catiim.inweeblylink_new_window
- Once you choose the date, you will need to choose the 10 a.m. (displayed as 10:00) session or the 3:30 p.m. session (displayed as 15:30).
- You must show original mark sheets and submit photocopies to prove your eligibility at the time of interview. Further, if you are selected for a programme, original degree certificate and mark sheets along with your photocopies must be submitted for verification at the time of joining the programme.
MAT
The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a National Entrance Test conducted by All India Management Aptitude Testing Service (AIMATS), for admission to MBA and equivalent programmes of the various participating institutes.
AIMA-MAT is usually conducted 4 times a year: in February, May, September and December. The list of institutes that use the AIMA-MAT results varies from test to test.
Eligibility
Candidates should be graduates in any discipline. Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply.

Obtain Form with MAT Bulletin/CD against cash payment of Rs 1200/- (One thousand two hundred only) from listed branches of Bank of Baroda, listed Study Centres of AIMA OR against cash payment of Rs 1050/- (One thousand fifty only) from AIMA, New Delhi.
